Tech Outlasts Storm


RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene fell 6-3 at Arkansas Tech in its final road Great American Conference match of the season.

The Crimson Storm (2-9, 1-4 GAC) picked up a win at No. 2 doubles and got wins at No. 2 and 4 singles, before falling to the Golden Suns (13-5, 1-1 GAC).

Tech took the first point of the match with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles as Judit Mas and Trista LeGrande fell 8-1. Anna Garcia and Dragana Samardzic lost 8-2 at No. 1. Polina Chala and Noelia Gomez though put SNU on the board with an 8-4 win at No. 2.

The Golden Suns pushed the lead to 4-1 as LeGrande lost 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles before Gomez fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 to No. 10 (Central Region) Macarena Acosta. Samardzic picked up the first singles win at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-3 win before No. 8 (Central Region) Chala won 6-1, 6-2, over No. 19 (Central Region) Tamara Bell at No. 3. Tech sealed the match with a win at No. 3 as Garcia lost 6-2, 6-4. Judit Mas also lost at No. 6 6-4, 6-7 (7-5) 10-8.
