Oklahoma schools receive athletic trainer grant from NFL

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) — Duncan schools have been awarded a grant by the NFL, which will go toward athletic trainer funding.

According to the National Athletic Trainers Association the grant is a collaborative between NATA and the NFL to help schools who are in need of an athletic trainer.

Duncan Superintendent Melonie Hau told The Duncan Banner (http://bit.ly/2q8JcvJ ) it's a step in the right direction in making sure the students have the support they need.

"There are not many schools that have an athletic trainer on staff," Hau said. "Because of the mandates that are coming from the Legislature...
