Oklahoma County Jail inmate dies in apparent suicide

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma County officials say in inmate has apparently taken his own life two days after being sentenced to prison.
The Oklahoman reports (http://bit.ly/2sQj4mT ) that 46-year-old Nhan Thanh Nguyen (WIN) of Oklahoma City was found hanging in his cell Wednesday. Officials say in a news release that Nguyen apparently died "due to suicide."
Nguyen was charged in 2004 with shooting with intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon after a confrontation outside an Asian food restaurant in Oklahoma City. He was wanted for more than a dozen years before he was finally apprehended in November. He pleaded guilty on Monday and agreed to serve 10 years in prison and 10 years of probation.
He is the seventh inmate to die at the Oklahoma County Jail this year.
