SNU falls 3-0 in each of its two Saturday matches in Durant

DURANT, Okla. — After sweeping its first two matches of the South Central Classic Friday, Southern Nazarene ended up on the other side of two sweeps Saturday, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-16) to Minnesota-Crookston and 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-13) to No. 21 Central Missouri.

In the opener, SNU was held to just a .052 clip as it had 23 hitting errors on the day. Add 11 aces by Crookston and the Storm were looking up most of the match. Kayla Thomas led the way with 10 kills while Bailee Turang had eight. Kylie Smith had 22 assists and four digs. Elyse Berlin had 11 digs while Hannah Davis had seven to go with five kills.

SNU as a team had 30 digs and one block.

In the final match, Meagan Ellis had 10 kills and was one dig short of a double-double with nine. Hannah Davis also had seven kills. Kylie Smith had 11 assists and four digs. Elyse Berlin and Bailee Turang combined for 28 digs as Berlin had 15 and Turang had 13. Turang also had four aces.
