Lady Bulldogs Take Second at UCO Classic

EDMOND, Okla. – SWOSU Women's Golf remained in their second spot following the final round at the UCO Classic, unable to jump tournament host and winner Central Oklahoma despite three SWOSU top-10 finishers.

Chloe Thackeray was SWOSU's top golfer for the second-consecutive tournament, totaling 144 (+3) through 36 holes and edging out teammate Gloria Choi's score by one stroke overall. Thackeray finished tied for third overall on the individual leaderboard with scores of 71 and 73, while Choi was sixth after carding a 72 and 73. Elin Wahlin was the Lady Dawgs other top-10 finisher, tying for eighth place at the event with a 149 (+7) score that included rounds of 75 and 74.

Jenna Eidem shot 153 (+11) overall, but improved her first round score by five strokes in the final round after shooting a three-over 74. Emily Folsom finished at 157 (+15) while Tracy McGill, playing as an individual, turned in scores of 77 and 76 to total 153 (+11) for the event.

Central Oklahoma topped the field by shooting 585 (+17) as a team, beating the Lady Dawgs by six strokes to claim the win. Peerada Piddon of Arkansas Tech took the individual crown, shooting a three-under 139.

SWOSU now has two second-place finishes this fall, and one event win back on September 12 at the NSU Classic in Tahlequah. They will compete at the DBU Golf Classic in Dallas next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 9-10) for the final event of the fall season.
