No. 3 Midwestern State hangs on to beat Eagles

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Oct. 14, 2017) – Oklahoma Christian went toe-to-toe with one of NCAA Division II's best soccer teams on Saturday night and came agonizingly close to what would be a major breakthrough.

But No. 3-ranked Midwestern State (Texas) picked up a second-half goal from Scott Doney and rode it the rest of the way to hold off OC 1-0 at Stang Park. Midwestern State (12-0-2, 8-0-2 Heartland Conference) remained undefeated and has 26 standings points, the most in the league.

The Mustangs outshot OC (3-8-2, 1-7-2) by an 11-2 count, but OC held them without a shot for the first 27 minute...
