Harding Women's Golf Wins HSU Fall Invitational

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Harding women's golf won its second straight tournament Tuesday with a two-stroke victory over Texas-Tyler in the HSU Fall Invitational, hosted by Henderson State at the Hot Springs Country Club.

Tuesday's third round was played in very windy conditions. Harding entered the final round with a four-shot lead over Henderson State and a seven-shot lead over Texas-Tyler. Harding shot 338 in the third round to finish at 972, the fourth best 54-hole score in program history. Texas-Tyler shot 333 in the third round to pull within two strokes, but Henderson State shot 344 and fell to third.

The victory, combined with Harding's win last week at the Lady Panther Fall Tournament, gave the Lady Bisons wins in consecutive tournaments for the first time since winning the Natural State Golf Classic and the GAC Championship in 2013.

All five of Harding's golfers finished in the top 20. Junior Brooklyn Terry led the Lady Bisons at 238 and finished third. Junior Delaney Bowlestied for fifth at 243, freshman Kiera Smith at 13th at 247, sophomore Bryle Alcorn tied for 14th at 248, and senior Katelyn Walker tied for 16th at 250.

Helle Leed of Southern Arkansas won the event at 13-over 229.

Two Harding golfers played as individuals. Taytum Billington tied for 32nd at 265, and Summer Williamson tied for 41st at 277.

The HSU Fall Invitational was the last of five fall tournaments for the Lady Bisons.

Facts and Figures

Terry's third-place finish was her second straight top-five finish.

Bowles's top-five finish was the first of her career in 22 events. She shot 243, six strokes better than her previous career-best 54-hole score.

Alcorn shot 248, four strokes better than her previous career-best 54-hole score.
