SE Ends Season in GAC First Round

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Southeastern saw its 2017 season come to an end in the first round of the Great American Conference Tournament on Thursday night with a 3-0 loss to No. 8 Arkansas Tech in Hot Springs, Ark.

The loss ends the season with a record of 13-20 and an 8-8 mark in league play.

Abby Jameson turned in 10 kills in the effort with Arianna Baker right behind at nine and Taylor Robinson chipping in seven.

Alissa Benson put up 34 assists in the effort along with an ace, a block and three digs.

Caitlin Cosby picked up 14 digs to lead all defenders, while Hallie Smith led the net defense with four blocks.

Southeastern led early in the first set, but ATU would pull away for a 25-21 win to take a 1-0 lead.

The Storm dropped the second set 25-18, and in the third would attempt a late rally, but ultimately drop it by a 25-18 score as well as the Golden Suns would take the match 3-0.
