December 10, 2017
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Baptist sank 10 three-pointers from seven different players and held off Oklahoma Christian 80-74 at the Eagles' Nest Saturday.
Chandler Rickey had 25 points and seven rebounds to lead OBU in both categories.
The Bison shot 59 percent from three-point range, allowing them to overcome a 48-34 rebound disadvantage.
Rickey scored 10 points in the first six minutes to stake OBU to a 15-10 lead.
OC scored 14 of the next 19 points to grab a 24-20 lead. The Eagles led by five before OBU dropped in five three-pointers in their next five attempts and took a 40-34 edge with 3:08 left in the half.
Spencer Lindsey and Adnan Jahic had two each and Brantly Thompson added another in that barrage of triples.
The Bison had a 42-40 lead at the half.
Both team had leads in the second half with OBU leading by as many as nine.
OC trimmed that lead to 76-74 late but could not grab one more lead as Travon Moore canned both ends of back-to-back bonus free throw opportunities.
Jahic had 10 points to join Rickey in double figure scoring.
OBU returns to action Saturday in a 3 p.m. home contest against Kansas Christian.
