The Lady Muleriders suffered in the second quarter as the Golden Suns scored the first 13 points of the frame on a 13-0 run that extended their lead out to 32-17 at 4:50. Arkansas Tech held SAU to just seven points in that quarter to take a 37-24 advantage at the intermission.

Despite the deficit after that half, the Lady Muleriders kept up with the Golden Suns in the second half as they matched ATU with a 40.0% field goal percentage from the floor.

Sue Key tallied 15 points in the second half and made seven of her twelve attempts at the charity stripe to pace the Lady Muleriders, but the Golden Suns shot 90.9% from the free throw line (20-of-22) to pull away from SAU and eventually secure the win, 87-62.
