Dempsey named GAC Pitcher of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - After a stellar weekend, Arkansas Tech junior pitcher Kristen Dempsey has been named the Great American Conference's Pitcher of the Week.
Dempsey, a native of Benton, Arkansas, helped pitch the Golden Suns to a four-game sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State as she limited the Rangers to only one run 11.0 innings inside the circle. She struck out nine in a two-hit shutout on Saturday. She started the finale and allowed one run in 4.0 innings of work. For the week, she gave up only six hits and she posted a 13-2 strikeout-walk ratio.
