Baseball Bisons Use Big Innings to Beat Ouachita

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding used two multi-run innings to come from behind and defeat Ouachita Baptist 9-3 Monday in the finale of the teams' three-game Great American Conference series. Ouachita won both games Sunday by one run.

Trailing 2-0 after three innings, Harding scored three in the fourth to take the lead. Luke Van Dover and Connor Kelly both walked with the bases loaded to push across the first two runs, and David Butterfield's sacrifice fly scored Chris Taylor with the go-ahead run.

Harding tacked on another run on Grant Guest's RBI single in the fourth, and Bison starter Jackson Ward kept posting zeros on the scoreboard after the Tigers' two-run first.

Leading 4-2 after six, Harding broke the game open with a five-run seventh. Kelly drove in the first run with a single up the middle, and Brenden Perrett scored three more with a bases-loaded double to left. Guest scored Perrett with his second RBI and the fifth run of the inning on a double to left.

Ward (2-1) earned the win with 6 2/3 innings of work. He allowed four hits and two earned runs and struck out seven. Reed Roberts gave up one run over the final 2 1/3 innings.

Ouachita starter Adam Bahloul took the loss, going 6 2/3 innings. He surrendered only two hits but walked seven and gave up four earned runs.

Guest, Nolan Fertig and Zach Beasley each had three hits for the Bisons.
