April 19, 2018

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Sophomore Logan McCall pitched seven scoreless innings, Jack Thomas had his first career three-hit game, and Luke Van Dover hit his third home run of the season to lead Harding to a 7-2 victory over Central Baptist in a game played Tuesday at Dickey-Stephens Park, the home of the Arkansas Travelers, Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

McCall (1-0) earned his first win of the season, allowing only one hit, a soft liner to right by Austin Allen in the third inning.

Thomas had a leadoff single in the third that jumpstarted a four-run inning for the Bisons. The key hit was a two-run double to left from Zach Beasley.

Van Dover made it 5-0 in the fifth with a solo blast over the leftfield wall that landed in the grass just in from of the scoreboard.

Harding tacked on a single run in the sixth on Brendan Perrett's safety squeeze. Grant Guest drove in a run with a bases-loaded infield ground out in the eighth.

Jacob Clark (1-4) started and got the loss for Central Baptist. He allowed five runs on five hits over five innings.

Harding returns to Great American Conference play Friday and Saturday at Arkansas-Monticello.
