WONDER BOYS FOUR STROKES OFF LEAD AFTER ROUND ONE OF GAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas Tech men's golf is in third place after Sunday's round one of the Great American Conference Championships at the Hot Springs Country Club, trailing current-leader Henderson State by just four strokes.
The Wonder Boys are second in the tournament in par-3 scoring and par-4 scoring after round one of three, and Tech is one of just two teams with at least two players currently in the top five. Austin Gean led Arkansas Tech with a 2-under 70 in Sunday's round to sit in a tie for second.
Luke Cornett followed close behind with a 72, putting him in a four-way tie for fifth. Cornett led the Wonder Boys with 15 pars in 18 holes, while Gean recorded a team-high four birdies.
Kellen Gray is currently tied for 22nd after carding a 75 in round one, and his two-shot eagle on the fourth hole is one of just three eagles among the 50-man field. Shawn Tsai is tied for 29th with a 76, while Putter Srinoon is tied for 31st after shooting a 77. Tsai led Tech with an even-par score on the course's par-4 holes.
The Wonder Boys return to play in the GAC Championships on Monday, with the third and final round scheduled for Tuesday.
