ECU Women's Cross Country Picked Second in 2018 GAC Poll

ADA – After finishing second in 2017, the East Central University women's cross country team was picked to finish second in the 2018 Great American Conference poll.

Oklahoma Baptist was the top choice in the poll, with 120 points (10 first-place votes), while the Tigers were close behind with 109 points (one first-place vote). Harding was third with 104 points (one first-place vote), Arkansas Tech fourth (86), Southern Arkansas fifth (80), Southeastern sixth (67), Southwestern seventh (65), Southern Nazarene eighth (57), Northwestern ninth (38), Henderson State 10th (27), Ouachita Baptist 11th (26) and Arkansas-Monticello 12th (13).

ECU welcome back Anna Mora, the 2016 GAC individual champion, following a redshirt season. She joins a squad that brings back 2017 All-GAC First-Team runner Kyleigh Norris and Second-Team honorees Barbara Johnson, Kelsey Horner, Gracye Werth and Abbie Winchester.

The Tigers will open the season Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Central Oklahoma Land Run. ECU will start competing against several conference opponents in the race, with ATU, Harding, NWOSU, Oklahoma Baptist, SAU and SNU all set to run.
