Football: Turnovers sting RiverHawks in 34-7 loss

TAHLEQUAH – 21 unanswered points by Emporia State in the third quarter deflated the RiverHawks in their home opener on Thursday evening and fell 34-7 at Doc Wadley Stadium. Northeastern State newcomer Ryheem Brummitt had them team's lone scoring play late the in the first half on a 35 yard pass from Cade Yeager. Brummitt had five catches for 73 yards to pace both teams.

TURNING POINT

Following a seven play scoring drive by ESU to go up 20-7 with 8:15 left in the third quarter, the RiverHawks fumbled the ball on their first play on their own 32-yard line. The Hornets would only need four plays...
