Internal Oklahoma agency candidate to oversee medical pot

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma health officials have appointed an internal candidate to head up the state's new Medical Marijuana Authority.

Oklahoma State Department of Health Interim Commissioner Tom Bates announced Thursday that Adrienne Rollins will lead the division overseeing medical pot. Rollins has been with the agency since 2012 and has been working since April on implementing the program in Oklahoma.

Rollins previously worked for the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
