OBU's Turner Named Player of the Week

December 19, 2018

SHAWNEE – After leading OBU to a convincing win over Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford this past week, Davion Turner has been named the Great American Conference Player of the Week.

Turner, a senior from Dallas, Texas, averaged nearly a point per minute against the Bulldogs, scoring a career-high 27 points in 30 minutes of action. He shot 5-of-7 from long range, matching his career-high for 3-pointers made in a game. Turner completed his first career double-double by also pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Turner is the first Bison to take home the GAC's weekly honor since Chandler Rickey in Week 6 of the 2015-16 season. He is also the first OBU player under first-year head coach Jason Eaker to claim the honor.

Oklahoma Baptist (4-4, 3-1 GAC) takes a break from GAC action this week when they welcome Central Oklahoma to Mabee Arena at the Noble Complex for non-conference action on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
