ALVA, Okla. – For the third time in four games, the Northwestern Oklahoma State University men's basketball played extra time. The Rangers unfortunately came out on the losing end as they fell to Arkansas-Monticello Saturday afternoon, 75-74, in overtime.

Entering the second half, the Rangers were had a 34-27 advantage over the Boll Weevils. As the game progressed, UAM was able to cut into the lead and eventually grabbing it for the first time with 9:38 to go in regulation.

The visiting team extended its lead to seven with three minutes remaining before Jack Peck a steal sparked a last minute push for the lead and win. Following the steal, Treyvon Andres was fouled and hit a free throw to make it a six-point game.

With 1:24 to go, Peck struck with a huge three-point basket to make it 64-61 in favor of UAM. The Rangers buckled down and forced a travel by Darnell Wright, giving the Rangers the ball with just under a minute later.

On the ensuing Ranger possession, Peck was able to come up with an offensive round, finding freshman Cole Jones with a massive three-pointer to knot the game at 64 and send the game into overtime.

It was a hotly contested overtime period as the two teams went back and forth with the lead changing hands four times and the team's score equaled out three times. Outside shots from the Boll Weevils proved to the deciding factor in the extra period.

After a free-throw from Bryce Cashman to give the Rangers an advantage, UAM's Keelin Jackson answered a three-pointer. Andrew Clopton converted three straight shots at the charity stripe on back-to-back possessions, but Jackson again answered with a three to put UAM up two.

With just over two minutes to go, Bryshon Bryant knocked down a jumper to tie the game at 70. A few minutes later with UAM leading by two, the Northwestern defense trapped Marcus Gilbert near midcourt, who got out of control and traveled.

Andres then drew a foul, went to the line and hit both free-throws to tie the game at 74. But a foul on the inbound put KJ Lesure on the line. He converted one of his two free-throws for the victory for UAM.

Lesure led the Boll Weevils with 25 points.

Peck finished the game with a team high 16 points, including five baskets from behind the arc. Andres continues to put up double figure scoring numbers with 14 points and Thornton had 13 points and a team high six rebounds.

The Rangers had the advantage in points in the paint at 26-20, points off turnover at 20-12 and bench points with a 20-14 difference. However, free-throws were a struggle as the Rangers were 25-of-37, while the Boll Weevils hit 24-of-28 free shots.
