Another time when veterans didn’t get their checks

Veterans not getting their checks was the subject of a story prior to the famous federal “shutdown.” It referred to veterans trying to go to college on the GI bill and their checks were not coming out of Washington, D.C. The story had a quote from a federal employee who said that they were trying to get caught up on the checks and that the oldest requests would be processed first and newer requests would be later.
