Joyce Marion Dixon was born March 30, 1933, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the parents of Dor K. and Beulah L. Spear. She passed away on January 20, 2019, at the age of 85 years old.

Joyce was a resident of Alva, Oklahoma, for almost 60 years. She attended Northwestern University in Alva where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelors in Library Science.

While living in Alva, she taught high school English in Cleo Springs and at Alva High School. She was an avid bridge player, involved in numerous organizations, and heavily involved in the Alva community. She was Chapter Pres...
