Alivia Huell's Season High not enough for Lady Tigers

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Senior Alivia Huell shines with her season high in points in the battle against Arkansas Tech; however, the Lady Tigers fall to the Golden Suns 88-64.

Alivia Huell put in 18 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists in the game. Madison Brittain added 14 points and four rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

In the first quarter the Lady Tigers came out hot taking an 10-5 lead which was led by Madison Brittain's four points. Ouachita would answer every run by the Golden Suns as Madison Raney would make a layup to extend the Lady Tiger lead back to 14-10. A 5-0 run which saw a layup by Maija Gertsone and a Rylee Lavender three would make the Lady Tiger lead seven at the 4:00 mark in the first. The Tigers would end the first quarter with a three point lead at 23-20.

Heading into the second the Lady Tigers came out looking to extend their lead. After allowing a Arkansas Tech basket, Allivia Huell converted a layup, was fouled and made the layup to make it 26-22. The two teams traded baskets until Ouachita jumped back out to a 33-29 lead on an Alivia Huell jumper. The Lady Tigers would succumb the lead with 33 seconds left in the half only to have Madison Brittain drain a three with four seconds left to knot the game up at 42.

In the third the Lady Tigers would allow the Golden Suns to create a five point lead until Jakyya Clay made a layup to cut the lead to 44-47. Ouachita would again get within three at 49-46 as Alivia Huell and Jakyya Clay would make a free throw each with 4:30 left in the quarter. However, the Lady Tigers would allow a 17-1 run and go into the last quarter down 66-47. In the fourth quarter the Lady Tigers would battle hard to try to get back into the game cutting the lead to 14 on a 6-0 run. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough as they fall to the Golden Suns.
