OBU Soccer: Griffith Earns Second Weekly Honor

September 18, 2019

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the second time in as many weeks, Emily Griffith has been named the Great American Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week. The award was announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference offices.

Griffith, a Parker, Colorado, native, played 200 minutes in goal last week, posting a .778 save percentage with 10 saves against two goals allowed for a .90 goals-against average. Griffith provided a critical save in the second extra-time period to preserve a road tie against Midwestern State, one of eight saves in the match. She then provided an additional two saves in a narrow loss to Texas Woman's.

This is the eighth time in Griffith's three-year career on Bison Hill to earn the GAC's weekly honor, and the second time she's won back-to-back recognition.

Oklahoma Baptist is back in action tonight when they face the Golden Hurricane of the University of Tulsa at 7:30 p.m. on the road at Hurricane Stadium.
