SAU's Lexington Hilton named GAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

September 19, 2019

Russellville, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced their weekly cross-country awards today, and the Muleriders swept the awards for the first time in almost four years.

Freshman Lexington Hilton, for the first time in his career, received the honors as the freshman has been on fire to start the season.

The freshman from Green Forest, Arkansas has started his collegiate career off with two top-10 finishes – 8th at the UCA XC Challenge and 6th last week at the Bob Gravett Invitational.

Hilton's time of 26:26.7 this past weekend at the Bob Gravett Invitational saw the freshman pace his team as seven Mulerider runners clocked finishes in the top 16 places.

Hilton joins Carley Hale on the women's side as GAC Runners of the Week, marking the first time since October 21, 2015 that the Muleriders swept the Runner of the Week awards, and the fourth time overall as members of the GAC.

Hilton and the Muleriders are in action this Saturday as they compete in the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Missouri.
