HAWNEE, Okla. – In a showdown of two top Great American Conference soccer teams, it was Oklahoma Baptist who prevailed with a 1-0 victory on Thursday night in Shawnee.

OBU had a slight advantage of 11-10 in shots, with a 6-4 edge in terms of shots on goal. The difference in the match was a 26th minute goal from Emily Griffith, who scored the first goal against SWOSU in the past three games.

The loss snaps a three-game win streak by the Bulldogs, who also suffered their first GAC loss and fall to 6-4-1 on the year and 3-1-1 in conference play. Next up for the Dawgs is an in-state matchup at Southern Nazarene on Saturday evening.
