Jamee Noell (Reid) Trotter passed away October 30, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her services will be held at the Strode Chapel in Stillwater at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 3.

She was born November 16, 1946, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Jim and Jean Grant Reed and attended Northwestern State College. She found just the right profession to match her interests that would last a lifetime and in 1972 graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas. She found her future in nursing, a profession she dearly loved and worked for several years in many different areas of nursing.

In 1974 she had an opportunity through Ruth Killough to teach in the LPN program in Midwest City. Through this experience, she realized she could combine her love of both nursing and teaching and throughout her life she continued at times to teach in a variety of health settings. She was able to teach nursing, continue to work part time as an RN at Midwest City Memorial Hospital while completing her bachelor's degree at Central State University in Edmond. In 1978 she became part of the Oklahoma State Department of Vocational Technical education staff, now known as Career Tech. She spent 11 years working in the Curriculum Instructional Materials Center developing a variety of curricula for use in health programs across the United States and some foreign countries.

In 1984 she married Dr. Lanny F. Trotter and became part of his OB/GYN office staff. She and her husband attended a three-year post-graduate program to become certified as sex therapists and had private offices in Stillwater and Oklahoma City. In 1987 they moved to Moultrie, Georgia, where Jamee lived the "good southern living" life. In Georgia she was the happiest being involved in the community's volunteer programs. While living in Moultrie she and her husband adopted three cats: Smokey Jim, Savannah Jean and Amanda Jane. She adored those cats and they were her furry children.

In 1992 she and her husband moved back to Stillwater and she began teaching at Meridian Technology Center in the Health Science Technology Program.

Jamee was happiest when helping others. If you were a friend, you were family. Her love of others kept her spirits soaring. Her love of God and her belief in His workings was a constant source of comfort for her. In 2002 Jamee lost her most cherished best friend when her mother, Jean, died at the age of 88. Jamee and Jean made many memorable trips and loved to go places and do things together.

In 2003 Jamee and her husband moved to Edmond. She worked part time for Metro Tech teaching in some of the health programs there. They became part of a wonderful active church community at the Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Jamee is predeceased by her parents, grandparents, husband and four of her cats. She believed she would one day be with her cats sitting on the Rainbow Bridge when the Lord called her home.

She is survived by her two cats, Hope and Mariah; her one sister, Chere Brown; her niece and her husband, Jill Noell (David Ray) and their 3 children, Savannah Noell (Sam Delzell), Mckennah and Rob Ray; and her great-great nephew Liam Delzell, all of Edmond. She is also survived by her nephew and his wife, Jim and Crystal Brown, and their two children, Jasmine and Cale, of Buford, Georgia. Also surviving are several beloved cousins and their families and many dear friends.
