RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league's volleyball awards for the week, and Southern Nazarene's dynamic duo of Bailee Turang and Kylie Smith both earned accolades. Turang was named Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks as the senior was outstanding in the Storm's two wins last week. In the five-set win over Cameron, she racked up a career-high 30 kills and was one kill shy of tying the school record for most kills in a single match. Not only did she explode for 48 kills in the two SNU wins last week, but the senior did so on a sizzling .358 hitting percentage to go along with 33 kills and five service aces. This is the second time this season Turang has earned the Offensive Player of the Week award. One may ask how Turang was able to register those video game numbers last week and the answer comes from Kylie Smith. The senior setter was also sensational as she flirted with breaking her own school record last week, tallying 64 assists in the win over Cameron. She added 39 more against East Central as her 103 assists in eight sets gave her an incredible 12.88 assists per set average. This is the fifth time this season Smith has been named GAC Setter of the Week, bringing the total to seven in 2019 for SNU volleyball. Turang continues to lead the conference in kills while Smith also continues to lead in assists. Smith still leads the nation in assists while Turang just moved into the top-10 in the nation in kills. Southern Nazarene is back in action tomorrow night at home against Northwestern Oklahoma State at 7:00 p.m
