Investigator say settlement reached in county overpayments

CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) — An investigator for the Oklahoma attorney general says more than half the overpayments to Grady County elected officials has been repaid and an undisclosed agreement was reached for repayment of the remaining funds.

Angela Marsee told The Oklahoman that $401,765 has been has been refunded and the repayment agreements will recover the remainder of the $727,343 in overpayments made during a 10 year period.

The overpayments to 13 officials including county commissioners and two sheriffs was revealed in an audit in August 2018.
