OPOLIS, Kan. (AP) — A woman whose body was found Wednesday in southeast Kansas might have been hit by a vehicle, authorities said Friday.

The woman was identified Friday as Brandi S. Moore, 35, of Pittsburg. Her body was found in Opolis, an unincorporated town in Crawford County.

Crawford County Sheriff Danny Smith said a pathologist indicated a preliminary external examination found Moore's injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. A complete autopsy and official cause of death are pending.

The death occurred between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m Wednesday.

Smith said the driver and type of vehicle involved have not been determined.
