Dovie Othel Wilson, daughter of the late Roy E. and Lucinda (Jones) Lee, was born October 23, 1936, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and passed away September 24, 2020, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and one day. She was cremated at her request and no services are planned at this time.

Dovie attended school in Colgate. She was united in marriage to Gene Marvin Wilson in Clovis, New Mexico. She delivered mail for the United States Postal Service for a number of years.

She lived in Ulysses, Kansas, many years before moving to Freedom. She attended the Freedom Christian Church. She was a people person who loved visiting with anybody and everybody.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Marvin Wilson; one son, John Brown; one brother, Franklin Lee; and one sister, Grace Caldenburg.

Dovie is survived by two sons, Jeff Brown and wife, Roberta, of Freedom and Davy Brown of Freedom; one daughter, Penny Joyce Gerik and husband, Tom, of Eureka, California; two sisters, Ellamay Byers of Dodge City, Kansas, and Ruthie Smith of Ada; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
