The Alva Goldbugs begin Class 2A football playoffs Friday when they travel to Chandler for a 7 p.m. game. The Chandler Lions are 5-2 in 2A-2 district play with a 7-3 overall record. Alva goes into the playoffs with a record of 1-6 in 2A-1 district games and 2-8 overall. The winner will go on to play the winner of the Perry vs. Meeker game on Nov. 20 while the loser is eliminated.

Looking at other Class 2A-1 district teams, Oklahoma Christian School drew a bye and won’t play until Nov. 20. Hennessey will play at Kellyville Friday night, Perry will host Meeker, Blackwell will host Prague, Luther...
