Police say woman hit, killed while walking in Wichita street

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A woman has died after being hit by a vehicle as she walked along a street in southwest Wichita, police there said.
The crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Friday along South West Street, television station KAKE reported. Police said the woman was in her 30s and was walking in the roadway when she was hit. Police did not immediately release her name.
The driver reportedly was going to work at the time of the crash and didn't see the woman, investigators said. Officials said the driver is cooperating with police....
