Funeral services for Verna Marie Davidson will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the Waynoka First Baptist Church with Terry Phipps officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC.

Verna Marie Davidson, daughter of the late Elbert Matthew and Jonathan Elizabeth "Bettie" (Taul) Morris, was born October 13, 1926, on a farm northeast of Waynoka, Oklahoma, and passed away September 3, 2021, at her home in Waynoka, Oklahoma, surrounded by her three granddaughters at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Verna attended the Cotton Wood Valley District 51 School and attended high school in Waynoka and Avard. Since her father was sick and all the boys were in the service, she quit school to help with the family farm. They moved to the ranch down in the sand hills southeast of Waynoka in 1942.

On February 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Elmer E. Parker and to this union one daughter, Elmira Marie was born. Elmira passed away April 21, 1951. Later that year she and Elmer moved to Wichita, Kansas, and she worked for Boeing Aircraft Company. In 1953, they moved to Attica, Kansas, where they entered into a television and hardware business where she resided until 1967. Bettie Jean was born and came to live with them on April 8, 1959. Elmer passed away September 29, 1966.

Verna married LeRoy C. Davidson on December 26, 1967. Verna adopted LeRoy's boys, Larry, Dan and Rex. They moved to Amarillo in 1968 where they lived until August, 1986. They moved back to Waynoka in 1986 following LeRoy's retirement from the Santa Fe Railroad. LeRoy passed away in March, 1998.

Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by three children, Elmira Parker, Bettie Jean Shelton, and Larry Davidson; four siblings, Aaron Morris, Laberta Green, Geneva Smith, and Laura Jones; and two grandchildren, Lonnie Bolar and William Chapman.

Verna is survived by two children, Don Davidson and wife, Pam, of Waynoka, and Rex Davidson of Canadian, Texas; one sister, Laetta Phillips and husband, Raymond, of Tulsa; ten grandchildren, Marlana Mills and husband, Robert, of Arkansas City, Kansas, Michael Davidson and wife, Pamala, of Waynoka, Ricky Davidson and wife, Sallye, of Alva, Cami Percival and husband, T.J. of Hopeton, Felicia Green and husband, Brandon, of Waynoka, Tamara Bolar and Kale Schmidt of Waynoka, Veronica Durkee and husband, Darren, of Waynoka, Robert Davidson of Canadian, Texas, Melody Davidson of Swain, Georgia, and Meagann Mason; 25 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, with another on the way; other relatives and many friends.

She was very devoted to her grandchildren and great grandkids. They were her pride and joy.
