Bid awarded for Aline blacktop striping project

September 29, 2021

Commissioners in Alfalfa County opened two bids for the Aline blacktop striping project: one for $12,835 from a company called Advance and the other from Action Safety for $16,473.60. Marvin Woodall, Jay Hague and Mike Roach opted for the cheaper bid.

The agenda stated the possibility of County Clerk Laneta Schwerdtfeger to solicit sealed bids for bridge construction (#2101 located on CR Craig 610 and 600). However, they took no action on the matter.

After that, commissioners signed in a slight modification to the OK EM Grant Access authorization form and moved on to sign a certificate for state use or non-profit educational organizational use for the 2021 federal tax exemption.

Next, Schwerdtfeger told the commissioner she received an email about a request for zoning verification and building permit requirement for Alfalfa County from Branch Communication CRB Company LLC. Schwerdtfeger said it had to do with antennas on existing phone towers but that they had no zoning.

The last item was a resolution concerning the bridge inspection responsibility by the local government for compliance with the national bridge inspection standards. That resolution takes effect in April of next year, but the paperwork came in earlier than usual.

The commissioners approved previous meeting minutes, payroll, maintenance and operation payments warrants, and blanket purchase orders earlier in the meeting.
