Some Burlington alums have fond memories of Bonnie Somerhalder as their beloved kindergarten teacher. Others think of her as their helpful librarian. Everyone knew she had a passion for reading.
"It was a great 30 years," Somerhalder said of her time at Burlington Public School. She began teaching when she and Jake's oldest child, Georgia, was five. Then the school wanted to start half-day kindergarten and she taught those little ones when their son Greg was about eight months old – so around 1960.
