Dad would say a lot that there wasn’t anything this country couldn’t grow, if we just got the moisture to grow it. Apparently, this year we are growing grass and weed seeds.

This ole country looks so different than it did three months ago. Then, it was a barren desert. Now it is a lush paradise, albeit with a lot of monstrous mosquitoes.

One thing that has surprised me though after the rain is how little tonnage of forage we have grown till those native plants shot a seed head and what concerns me is what that will do to prairie hay cutting when it comes time to bale it up.
