As of today, July 9, the cost to mail a one-ounce letter increased by 5.4 percent from 63 cents to 66 cents. The US Postal Service says the increase is being levied to offset the cost of inflation. Any Forever stamps you purchased at the previous rate will still be good for the new rate.

Metered one-ounce letters go up three cents to 63 cents. Domestic postcards now cost 51 cents to mail compared to 48 cents previously.

International postcards increase by five cents to $1.50, and international one-ounce letters also go up 5 cents to $1.50.
