Cherokee School Board discusses energy efficiency, armed personnel

 


At the Cherokee Board of Education's regular meeting Monday, July 10, energy efficiency was the first real point of discussion. Later, a proposed policy on having armed staff drew considerable discussion as well.

Energy efficiency arose during the board's discussion of the encumbrances and warrants for the general, building and child nutrition funds, which were part of the consent agenda. Superintendent Bryce Schanbacher pointed out the high cost of the utility bills.
