What happens when a county employee has accumulated unused vacation time and then gets elected to county office? That was a discussion during the Monday morning meeting of the Woods County Commissioners. Rachel Spellman-Hughes took office as county treasurer July 1. Before that she was employed in the treasurer’s office where she accumulated unused vacation time. Elected officials receive an annual salary and don’t receive vacation pay.
