Another tradition gone by the wayside

I am so old I remember when saving your country, respecting the flag and obeying the law were considered good character traits.

There is a Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys tribute celebrating 90 years in Oklahoma City this fall. Bob died in 1975 yet his music and fans live on. Whenever I hear Bob Wills I think of my cousin, Kenny Cole. He loved country swing, and he made it to the Bob Wills tribute in Turkey, Texas, for many years. Kenny's daughter Virginia has the same love of music, playing at and attending many musical events, most notably the Walnut Creek Festival at Winfield, Kansas, country singing at its finest.

On the subject of family, Neil Scribner sent me a picture of his grandson Kent and his wife Sara, hanging one of their paintings in the Oklahoma State Capitol building. I knew it would look great because both of them are very talented people.

Please pray for Maui. Fire is a very unforgiving thing. Over a thousand people are unaccounted for.

Bubba said his high school was so small they had sex education and driver's education in the same car.

God bless and let's all be safe out there.
