Clifton Savoy awarded medal for book about NWOSU

Clifton Savoy, a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, is a Medal Award Winner in the Florida Authors and Publishers Book Competition. Savoy was awarded the medal for his book "Shades of Color" about his experiences at NWOSU during the civil rights unrest of the 1960s. The international competition included winners from as far away as Taiwan.

Savoy's book contains his firsthand experiences as well as stories and quotes gleaned from other NWOSU alumni. Savoy credits Dr. Janet Cunningham, former NWOSU president, and many others for their help and input.
