Louthan places first in pole vault and javelin at AAU State

Myka Louthan, Alva Middle School eughth grader, participated in AAU (Amateur Athletic Program) track and field this summer. On June 3, when AAU State was held at Putnam City High School, she placed first in pole vault with 8 feet 6 inches and first in javelin with 84 feet 4 inches.
AAU Regionals were held June 23–25 at Yukon High School. Louthan took first in javelin with 88 feet 3 inches, third in pole vault with 8 feet 6 inches and third in pentathlon, qualifying in all three for National Junior Olympics.
