Northwestern welcomes twelve new faculty members

Northwestern's new faculty members who attended a recent orientation session before the start of the fall semester include, from left: (front row) Bailey Trammell, instructor of psychology; Dr. Brendan Stephens, assistant professor of English; Dr. Sierra Elsey, assistant professor of nursing; Dr. Barry Evans, associate professor of business; David Poindexter, associate professor of visual arts; Dr. Jason Abrams, assistant professor of chemistry; back row) Thomas Cornell, assistant professor of visual arts; Eric Burger, instructor of instrumental music/director of bands; Dr. Krystal Elliott and Dr. Gwyneth Holderby, both assistant professors of nursing; and Jesse Schroeder, assistant professor of mass communication. Twelve new faculty members began their teaching assignments at Northwestern Oklahoma State University for the 2023-2024 school year. Seven faculty members have been hired in the School of Arts and Sciences with five in the +-School of Professional Studies.

Dr. Jason Abrams, assistant professor of chemistry, holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Florida. He has a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Florida State University.
