Goldbugs lost 13-0 to Purcell in defensive battle

Alva's football opener at Purcell showed the Goldbugs and their coaches weaknesses to work on. The Goldbug offense obviously needs to figure out how to work as a cohesive unit. When they did get some big plays Friday night, penalties sabotaged their gains. The Purcell Dragons scored 13 points in the first half of play but couldn't get anything else on the scoreboard. Meanwhile their strong defense held Alva scoreless. The final was Purcell 13, Alva 0.
