The South Barber Chieftains football team opened up their season Friday night hosting the Skyline Thunderbirds. It was a back-and-forth game in the first quarter, with the Chieftains scoring first on their opening drive with a 1 yard touchdown run from QB Briggs Jewell. That was followed by an extra point being run in by Bryson Rathgeber. The Chieftains held a 14-8 lead after the first quarter.
