Women's cross country fifth at Southern Stampede in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. – Northwestern Oklahoma State competed in the Southern Stampede in Joplin Missouri in their second meet of the season. The women's cross country team finished fifth in the meet overall.

“The women's team put in a great effort in some challenging weather and a difficult course. I am impressed with the way the ladies raced today! Cadence Long-Torres made it onto the podium with a top 15 finish. Asia Williams set her personal record in the 5K,” said head coach Sterlin Broomfield.

The first finisher for the Rangers for the second street meet was Cadence Long-Torres with a final time of 20:34.14 placing 15th overall in the meet. Jasmin Garcia finished in 18th place with a time of 20:44.00. Final Ranger in the top 20 was Asia Williams with a final run time of 20:47.11.

Haley Combs was the fourth Ranger to cross the finish line as she ran a time of 22:34.99 placing 47 overall in the meet. Reina Gonzales was next with a time of 22:46.42 placing 50th in the Southern Stampede.

Next for the Rangers was Karlee Trammell in 53rd running the 5K with a time of 22:54.94 finishing ahead of Ely Dorado placed 59th with a time of 23:08.65.

Harley Woody placed 61st in the meet running a time of 23:09.83 followed by Jaime Torres-Franco in 80th with a time of 25:06.58. Emma Dodd finished 100 in the meet for a time of 30:11.34.
