Unhappy with the appraisal of roof damage by their insurer, the Alva Public Schools contracted for moisture inspection by Alpine Roofing. A representative of the company spoke to the Alva Board of Education during their meeting on Monday. He described methods used to search for areas of trapped moisture including thermography using cameras on drones to map the roof temperatures. After a day of sun, the roof cools at different temperatures, he said, and trapped moisture areas cool more slowly.
