A driver and passenger were injured in a one-vehicle rollover Friday in Grant County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report says the crash occurred at 4:21 p.m. on Comanche Road just north of County Road 1100. The location is four miles east and five miles south of Lamont.

Victor G. Lagunas Rivera, 39, of Norman, was driving a 2003 Nissan KXS pickup southbound on Comanche Road. The pickup departed the road to the right, striking a culvert and rolling one-half time. The pickup came to rest on its top in the ditch. Rivera was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes before being freed by the Lamont Fire Department.

Rivera was flown from the scene by Eagle Med to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, where he was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

A passenger whose name was withheld was transported by Miller EMS to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, and admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

The cause of the collision is listed as unsafe speed for the type of roadway. Seatbelts were not in use in the pickup.

Trooper Mason Sparks investigated, assisted by Troopers Jeff Jech and Aaron Crompton, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Lamont Fire Department, Eagle Med and Miller EMS.
