Reply about mural on church row

Letter to the Editor

October 13, 2023

As a senior pastor in the City of Alva, I'm responding to the letter to the editor about the mural on "Church row."

I drove by and looked at it and I think it's awesome. I didn't see any subliminal messages. See our job is to "Win the loss at ALL costs" and, as a Pastor full of the Holy Spirit, I believe in winning the loss at all costs and preaching the word of God.

But since his can of worms was opened up, let's talk about the churches getting involved in a pagan holiday. Trying to justify it by calling it "trunk or treat." The word of God says in the last days the church will get more like the world, and that's exactly what's happening.

With 28 churches in this town, the focus should be winning the loss for Jesus and not on being religious. You see, the Pharisees crucified Jesus because he refused to do things the way it's always been done. Jesus came to show us who the father is and to show us how to live our life and to win the loss at all costs.

The church nowadays want to go back and live like the Pharisees lived. To control things and try to make everybody believe they are right. The mural society is doing an awesome job in this town. We went as far as to have some painted on the side of our church but have yet to receive any comments on it. You see, our murals show people from all walks of life, nationalities and capabilities coming to hear the Word of God, to be accepted no matter what. To Come As You Are in case they don't have the nice clothes some churches require. We're not to judge and we're also not to justify our sins.

This article may never make it to print. But our newspaper and our mural society are doing an awesome job. For, you see, we will never win the loss at all costs doing things the way we've always done it. Because, how's that been working out for you? We've been senior pastors of Speak Life Fellowship AG for two years now and we love the people of Alva. We don't judge people but love them for who they are. We see Christ in them and who they can and will be.

"Winning the loss at ALL cost."
