Women's cross country places sixth at McPherson

MCPHERSON, Kan. – Northwestern Oklahoma State Women's Cross Country traveled to Kansas for a meet hosted by McPherson College Oct. 7. Northwestern Oklahoma State placed sixth overall in the meet with an average time of 21:05.
The Rangers' first two finishers completed the meet back-to-back as Asia Williams was the leader followed by Cadence Long-Torres. Williams placed 21st overall in the meet with a time of 20:03.0 for an average of 6:27.2 per mile. Long-Torres was second for Northwestern finishing with a final time of 20:03.6.
Reina Gonzales was third for Northwestern with a time of 21:36.6 placing 43rd overall with an average of 6:57.3. Two more placed in the top 50 of the meet as Harley Woody was 47th with a time of 7:01.6 average and a final time of 21:50.2. Mary Kate Foster was next in 50th with a time of 21:55.2.
Gina Wilson, Ely Dorado and Jaime Torres-Franco were all within the next ten spots. First was Wilson placing 53rd overall in the meet with a time of 22:10.9 followed by Dorado at 22:11.4 and Torres-Franco in 60th at 22:58.9.
The Rangers had three of the next four finishers from 68th to 71 as Emily Flores placed 68th in the meet with a final time of 24:32.8 followed by Kayhla Talavera with a time of 24:45.0 and Kynlee Mitchell with a 25:08.4 in 71st. Faith Paruszewski placed 80th in the meet with a final time of 31:18.0
The women's cross country team has a week off before heading to Russellville, Arkansas, for the conference meet on Oct. 21.
